"Joseph W. Tilton was b. 1797 on Martha's Vineyard. He died 24 August 1870. He is buried in the Tilton Cemetery in Noble County, Ohio. He was married to Mary D. Lund (b. about 1809) in NH on 30 March 1828 in Marietta, OH (Washington Co.) Mary died 2 March 1887. They had 11 children of which Samuel Newton was the 7th.
Samuel Newton Tilton was born 27 December 1841 in Crooked Tree (now Olive), Noble County , OH. He died 16 August 1908 (or Aug. 30). He is buried in the Masonic Cemetery in Bunceton, MO - Cooper County. He married Martha Ann Davis (b 30 January 1843) on 14 June 1866 in Noble Co. Ohio. She died 14 June 1924 in Tipton MO. which is Moniteau County. She was the daughter of William Pankhurst Davis (Perry) and Hannah Logan. Martha was buried beside Samuel Newton Tilton as was their daughter, Ida May.
Ida May Tilton was born 14 March 1867 in Noble Co. Ohio. She married 2 May 1888 to Joseph Obanion Nelson b. 6 August 1867. He was born in Denton County TX. She died 28 April 1889 after giving birth to Newton Tilton Nelson the day before. Joseph died 30 April 1947. He married (2) Alice Catherine Kelly on 22 April 1889. (Joseph's family lived in Denton Co. for only about 4 years then returned to Missouri, but they were there long enough to have him. His dad was in the Confederate Army and Ida's was in the Union Army. How's that for family differences)"]
