Roundy" was the 8th of 11 children born to John Henry Willis Jr. & Fannie Jane Roundy Willis. At the young age of sixteen he had to become the man of the house during the times that his father served as the first state senator from Navajo County. Senator Willis died in 1915 and it fell to Roundy to care for his mother and younger siblings. He entered the United States Army during WW1 to fight for freedom in Europe but was sent to Siberia instead and served there from September 1918 - October 1919, receiving his honorable discharge at that time. He was a faithful missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Arkansas and Missouri. When he was called to serve his fellow men in the Church, he dedicated himself to that calling. Roundy later served as the ward clerk to five Bishops spanning twenty years. He was a loving husband to his wife "Dora" whom he married 20 December 1940 in the Mesa Arizona Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They were blessed with two sons. Their posterity numbers ten grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. He was a hard worker all his life retiring at the age of 70+ years. Roundy and Dora retired to Mesa, Arizona so they could both work in the Temple and research genealogy. He was a quiet man with exceptional values and a deep love of family.
