Note for:   Margaret Ann Tilton,   10 May 1924 - 23 Apr 2009         Index

Individual Note:
Funeral services for Margaret Ann Coger, 85, of Roswell, will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, April 25, 2009, at Roswell Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Whitehead and the Rev. Harold Stacy officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Lawn Memorial Park.

Margaret was born March 10, 1924, in Wheeling, W.Va. to Elvin Joseph Tilton and Mary Margaret Louise Doland and grew up in Benavides, Texas, on the Tilton-Pena ranch. Margaret was a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed bird watching at Bitter Lake National Wildlife Refuge, shopping and traveling. She loved to spend time with her grandchildren and was a go-getter. She was president of Eastern New Mexico Medical Center Pink Ladies Auxiliary in the early 1990s and was a member of the V.F.W. Margaret wasn't able to attend Roswell Baptist Church because of her health, but Loretta's church family became her church family. Our sister "Ann" was the best sister in the world.

She is survived by one son, Zan Webster Coger Jr., of Roswell; a daughter, Loretta Sparkman, and her husband, Clay; three granddaughters, Brenna Williams, and her husband, Kenneth, and Kirsten and Hannah Sparkman; one great-granddaughter, and the light of her final days, Aubrey Williams, all of Roswell; brothers, Joseph "Tex" Tilton, and his wife, Carmen, and family, and Col. William "Bill" Tilton and his wife, Alice, and family; daughter, Georgianna Starr, and her husband, Arland, and daughters, Cheri and Micah, of Alabama.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Zan Webster Coger, in 1978; her parents, Elvin and Mary Tilton; two brothers, Jim and Jack Tilton; and her stepmother, Olivia Tilton.

Pallbearers will be Kenny Williams, Gary Hooser, Daniel Fuentes, Ronnie Beckham, Dean Finch and C.J. Oaty.

Please share your thoughts and memories with the family in the online register book at andersonbethany.com.

Services are under the direction of Anderson-Bethany Funeral Home & Crematory.
