2. Joseph Peden Samuel Driver Tilton (1812-90) m. 2nd 1845 MargaretCaldwell (1823-75).
3. James Caldwell (1794-1836) m. 1818 Esther McCracken (1794-1873); JohnTilton (1782-1856) m . 1809 Elizabeth Peden (1790-1875).
4. John McCracken m. Esther - Joseph Peden m. 2nd Rebecca Driver.
John McCracken (1755-1817) was a private in the 5th Pennsylvania [p.43]regiment under Col. F rancis Johnson. He was born in Donegal; died inWashington County, Pa.
Joseph Peden (1758-1850) served as an artificer, 1776-81, under Capt.Peregrine Jones, Colone l Smyser's regiment.

John Tilton, the only son of James, was born in New Jersey in 1785. Hemoved to Washington co unty, Penn., with his parents, where, in 1806, hewas united in marriage with Elizabeth Paden , of East Finley township,Washington county. To their union were born eleven children, but o ne ofwhom is still living, Elvira (unmarried, a resident of Franklintownship). Mr. Tilton w as a devoted member of the Baptist Church atPleasant Grove, and confirmed the donation of th e land, made by James,upon which it was built, becoming one of the first deacons of that chu rch
