The Topeka Capital-Journal Sunday March 7, 1965 Morris Tilton. Morris G. TILTON, 61, Route 8, was dead on arrival Saturday at a Topeka hospital after suffering an apparent heart attack at his home. He was born Sept. 26, 1903 at Eskridge. He was an employe of Santa Fe for 35 years before retiring a year ago. Mr. Tilton was a member of the Santa Fe Oldtimers Cludb, Masonic Lodge, No. 17, AF&AM, Topeka Consistory, and Arab Shrine. He attended the First Christian Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mildred Tilton, of the home; four sons, Robert E. Tilton, 1400 Caldon, Ray G. Tilton, 3420 W. 30th, James K. Tilton, 2425 Seabrook, and Fred O. Tilton, 2416 Indian Trail; nine grandchildren; two brothers, Willis G. Tilton, 1615 W. 21st, and Kenneth G. Tilton, 2401 Plass; and a sister, Mrs. Connie ANDERSON, 929 Randolph. Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Monday at Wall-Diffenderfer Chapel with burial in Mount Hope Cemetery.

She was born April 1, 1884 at St. Clere and had lived in Topeka many years. She was a member of the Christian Church at Soldier. Survivors include her husband, James E. Johnson, of the home: two sons, Otis D. Johnson, Port Townsend, Wash., and Cecil P. Johnson of the home: two daughters, Mrs. Mildred Tilton, Route 8, and Mrs. Edna Tilton 1615 W. 21st; two brothers, Walter Dove, 2015 E. 10th, and DeVere Dove, Holton; five grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Wall-Diffenderfer Mortuary. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery

Grocer Tilton dies at age 75 ---- Willis Glenn Tilton, 75, 1614 W. 21st died Sunday morning at his home. He was born Oct. 26, 1905, at Norton the son of Glenn and Inez Willis Tilton. He lived in Topeka most of his life. Mr. Tilton owned and operated Tilton's Grocery Markets until he retired in 1975. He was graduated from Chapman High School near Salina and attended Washburn University. He was a past president of the Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 58; the first president of the Topeka Gem and Mineral Society, and was a member of Shawnee Country Club and the First Christian Church. He was a life member of Masonic Orient Lodge No. 51, AF&AM and member of the Scottish Rite Bodies and Young Men's Christian Association, He was a nationwide dealer for American Indian books, and artifacts and catalogues for many years. He married Edna M. Johnson June 24, 1928, in Soldier, She Survives. Other survivors include a son, Doe E. Tilton, 1807 W 29th Terr. two sisters; Mrs. Connie Anderson, 929 Randolph and Mrs. Gladys Mellon, Topeka: a brother, Kenneth Tilton, 2401 Plass and three grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday at Newcomer-Diffenderfer Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Mr. Tilton will lie in state after 3 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.--
