.Richard Tilton and four of his children were killed on Feb 25, 1967. It is believed that Richard 'Dickie' Whitford murdered the five family members and then set the house on fire to cover the murder. There are articles in the Leesville Leader newspaper where Dickie was convicted and sentenced.
