(5a) 1663/4, 8 Mar: William MOULTON of Hampton, co. Norfolk, wrote hiswill. The rest of th e iron, brass and pewter not given to wife Margaretto be divided between wife and two oldes t sons. Wife Margaret to haveneat cattle, horse and swine toward bringing up my children exc ept thosealready accounted theirs, viz: son Joseph 3 cattle, son Benjamin 2,Hannah 1 and Massachusetts ry 1. To son Joseph MOULTON my dwelling house& barn, out housing, 10 acre house lot, 10 acr e planting land in thenorth plain, 5 acres in the East field, 9 acres of fresh meadow near t othe Great Bores Head, 2 acres of salt marsh in a place called Severalls,5 acres of salt Massachusetts rsh on the other side of the falls, 3shares of commonedy, 2 shares of cow common & 1 share o f the ox common.When son Joseph reaches 21, he to receive his inheritance and then lay info r his mother four loads of hay and every year 15 bushels of Indiancorn, 8 of wheat, and 5 o f malt. To child unborn 5 pounds when it comesof age to be paid by my sons Joseph and Benjam in. When sons Joseph andBenjamin come to age my plows, carts, yokes, chains, etc. to be divi dedbetween them. Joseph to bring home for his mother 13 loads of wood perannum, Benjami n 7 loads.
