John Hussey was a Quaker preacher. He removed from Hampton, New Hampshire, to Newcastle, Delaware, in 1692, and purchased a 340 acre tract of land there called "Nonesuch" 1 July 1695. [New Castle County land records, Book B, pp. 89-91]

The will of John Hussey dated 8 May 1707 and proved 18 February1707/08 in New Castle County, Delaware, names son Christopher; son Jededeah; daughter Rebecca wife of Samuel Collins; daughter Mary wife of Moses Swett; daughter Ann wife of James Stanyon; daughter Susannah widow of Richard Otis; daughter Bathshabo wife of Thomas Babb; daughter Charity wife of Garit Garitson [Garret Garretson]; daughter Content wife of Henry Land; son John Hussy, Executor. Signed, sealed and declared in the presence of Henry Swett. William Dowgeres, Sarah Swett. [Calendar of Delaware Wills, New Castle County, 1682-1800, p. 12, B.137]
